Dear Gardeners:
I do hope everyone had a good season, and that you enjoyed produce, exercise, and friendship at the gardens.
We had a wonderful End-of-the-Year Picnic in September, which once again featured a delicious display of food. However, as the days grow colder and shorter, it is now time to cleanup for the year. This is a lot of work, so don’t wait until the last minute. Since November 15 is a Sunday this year, we are asking that you be cleaned up by Saturday the 14th. (Right: Kathi Stokes, President)
This will be the day that volunteers put away the hoses, tools, and wheel- barrows. Last year there were more than a few plots that were not cleaned up. It took phone calls and several hours of volunteer work by others to clean up the plots. Please remember this is part of your job, even if you do not intend to return.
You may leave up your fence and the design of your plot, but remove all cages, stalks, and any high weeds. When you have finished this final responsibility you will be free to design and dream about your 2010 garden. Have a good winter. See you at the Winter Sign-Up Meeting, Thursday, March 11th at 7:30 pm at the Crows Woods Building.
